Eggshell Powder Recipe
A substitute for bones when using boneless meat is eggshell powder or a calcium supplement.
Here are the steps to make eggshell powder:
- Save eggshells as you use them.
- Rinse each shell thoroughly before storing.
- Keep the shells in a sealed container until you have enough to process.
- Bake the shells at 275–300°F (135–150°C) for 10 minutes.
- Allow them to cool completely.
- Grind them into a fine powder using a coffee grinder or spice grinder.
- Store the powder in an airtight container.
If you decide to transition from eggshell powder or calcium supplements to raw bones, make the change gradually. A sudden change may cause digestive upset. Here's how you can do that (link).
